Dear PNMs,On behalf of Pi Beta Phi, welcome to Clemson and the panhellenic community. It has been such an honor to consider myself one of many young women involved in Greek life at Clemson. I encourage you to go through recruitment to meet new girls, put yourself out there, and find a sisterhood for life. I understand the process can be overwhelming and scary at times, but I promise that it will be worth it. Some of my best friends I have made at Clemson were from my Pi Chi group and going through rush together– regardless of where we ended up. At Pi Phi, I am honored to serve as Vice President Recruitment, and to welcome each and every one of you into our chapter. Here, I have found a sisterhood I never could have imagined having. I have found girls to cheer for me on my best days, but to offer a listening ear on the worst. I have found our sorority to be filled with other girls who have high aspirations, regardless of whether they match my own. I am so lucky to be in a sisterhood full of girls that inspire me to become a better person everyday. In this leadership position, I am overjoyed to get to know our girls on an individual level, and work to create the best rush experience for you all. I look forward to learning about your interests, motivations, similarities, and differences. My advice to you is be yourself- share what makes you unique and talk about things you are passionate about! You will have the best conversations when you are true to yourself, and it allows us to connect with you on a deeper level. Quite honestly, as a PNM I was terrified. I came from out of state, knew no one, and was filled with anxiety. Never in a million years did I imagine myself facilitating recruitment, but I am so happy I went through the rush process and found my home away from home. The women in Pi Phi were able to build up my confidence and encourage me to lead, and I have found so much fulfillment in this position.
