ABOUT OUR CHAPTER

Hello and Welcome to Pi Beta Phi!

My name is Caroline Brindel, and I have the pleasure of serving as the Chapter President for the South Carolina Beta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi at Clemson University. Joining Pi Phi has easily been one of the best decisions I have ever made. It has given me the most precious friends, the most exciting experiences, and the most cherishable memories that I will hold onto forever. Our sisterhood is truly something special, and I am so excited to share the fantastic experiences and endless opportunities that come with being a part of Pi Phi.

Pi Phi has given me a family and a home within Clemson’s campus. Coming from in state, I thought I knew what to expect about being in a sorority, but being a part of Pi Phi has surpassed my expectations. The women that make up our sisterhood are the most kind hearted, energetic, passionate, and fun women I know. The treasured friendships and memories that I have made through Pi Phi have allowed me to grow into the best version of myself. Words truly can not describe just how proud I am to be a part of this chapter and to call each of these inspiring women my sisters.

The admirable women that make up our chapter are more than just Pi Phi women; our members are passionate, determined and hard working women that can be found all over campus as members and leaders in various groups such as academic organizations, Rally Cats, Tour Guides, club sports, Undergraduate Senate, and so many more. The diverse group of hard-working women that come together to make our chapter is what makes Pi Phi so unique and so special. In these organizations we exemplify our core values as we come together to uplift each other and our community.

A significant value of ours is Philanthropic Service to Others. With this we support our national philanthropy, Read>Lead>Achieve, as we host several events, such as BBQ for Books and a book drive versus the University of South Carolina’s Pi Phi chapter, to support ending children’s illiteracy. However, what makes our philanthropy so unique is that through our literacy efforts we are not only promoting children’s literacy nationally, but we actually get to work hand in hand in our local Clemson community through programs, such as Book Buddies. With this, our sisters attend a local elementary school each week and read with the children, allowing us to see the local impacts our philanthropic service has. Beyond our chapter’s literacy efforts, our members expand this value of Philanthropic Service to Others by participating and supporting the Panhellenic community and other campus organizations' philanthropic efforts.

I am endlessly thankful for all of the fantastic friends, opportunities, and experiences Pi Beta Phi has given me, and I am so eager to see where the rest of this year takes our sisters, our chapter, and myself. Without this sisterhood I would not be the confident and passionate friend, student, and leader that I am today. I am so honored to call each one of our members my sisters, and I am beyond grateful to be a part of a family that has been so endearing and welcoming. I hope I have effectively conveyed even a portion of how special Pi Phi is to me because there is truly no place like it. Pi Phi is our home, and we couldn’t be more proud to show you why we love it so much!

Pi Phi Love and Mine,
Caroline Brindel
